Jade “U-NICE” Melvin

Two Leos. We met while attending College of Performing Arts. I would bring a fresh beat CD to U-Nice’s apartment few days a week after school and we would freestyle for hours! After college we lost touch. During that time difficult change took place in both of our lives. This project deals with many emotions I have been trying to put into words for a long time. The conversation leading into each session set the tone. Once the beats filled the room the rest happened naturally. Those rare moments when you know the music is bigger than you.

Blessed with a powerful voice. You must hear her live to fully experience it. Not only can she sing—but she can write and produce. As a substitute teacher I believe U-Nice has an opportunity to impact students in a unique way. Aside from that, she has a big heart. In turn I believe her students could have a positive impact on her and her music.
